The South Carolina Meat Goat Project allows youth to participate in a relatively inexpensive and short-term animal project. The project goat is to be shown at the local county shows, SC State Fair, and at the year-end project final show in November. The project starts with selecting a young wether (castrated male) and purchasing the goat via private treaty either through a registered SC4ME breeder or other meat goat breeder (Open Wether).
